Trek is a mobile application for logging trips, tracking expenses, and sharing travel reports. This policy describes what data the app collects, how it is stored, and how it is used.

1. Data We Collect

Account data: Your email address, used for authentication via one-time code (OTP). No passwords are stored.

Profile data: A nickname you choose.

Trip data: Trip names, dates, and settings.

Stop data: GPS coordinates, place names, notes, and photos you attach to stops.

Group data: Email addresses of members you invite to group trips. Expense data including amounts, currencies, and categories.

2. How Data Is Stored

Trip data is stored locally on your device. For group trips and sharing, data is synced via servers provided by Supabase (cloud infrastructure based on PostgreSQL). Photos are stored in Supabase Storage.

Trip report links are public — anyone with the link can view the trip details.

3. How Data Is Used

Your data is used solely to provide the functionality of the app:

• Logging trips and stops
• Tracking expenses and calculating settlements
• Generating share links and trip reports
• Syncing group trip data between members
• Authenticating your identity via email

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, analytics, or any purpose other than operating the app.

4. Data Sharing

Trips you choose to share are visible to group members you invite and to anyone with the trip report link.

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties, except:

• Supabase: Infrastructure provider for syncing trip data and storing photos
• Apple / Google: If you make an in-app purchase, the respective store processes the transaction. We do not store payment details
• Cloudflare: Trip report hosting and content delivery

5. Data Retention

Your data is retained on your device as long as the app is installed. Shared data on our servers is retained as long as your account exists.

You can delete your account and all associated server data directly in the app, in the account settings.

6. Children's Privacy

The app is intended for use by adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

7. Security

Authentication is handled via one-time email codes. All communication between the app and servers uses encrypted connections (HTTPS).

8. Your Rights

You may access, correct, or delete your personal data directly in the app. You can also contact us — we will respond within 30 days.

9. Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this URL. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
