Papel is a mobile application for scanning, organizing, and sharing physical documents. This policy describes what data the app collects, how it is stored, and how it is used.
Account data: Your email address, used for authentication via one-time code (OTP). No passwords are stored.
Profile data: A display name you choose.
Document data: Collection names, titles, dates, and notes for documents you organize.
Document photos: Photos of scanned documents. Stored locally on your device, encrypted.
Share data: Email addresses of share link recipients implied through links you generate.
Document metadata is stored locally on your device. If you use sharing, shared collection data is synced via servers provided by Supabase (cloud infrastructure based on PostgreSQL).
Document photos are stored exclusively on your device and are never uploaded to our servers.
Your data is used solely to provide the functionality of the app:
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, analytics, or any purpose other than operating the app.
Collections you choose to share are accessible to anyone with the link. This is the core function of collection sharing.
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties, except:
Your data is retained on your device as long as the app is installed. Shared data on our servers is retained as long as your account exists.
You can delete your account and all associated server data directly in the app, in the account settings.
The app is intended for use by adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Authentication is handled via one-time email codes. Document photos are encrypted on your device. All communication between the app and servers uses encrypted connections (HTTPS).
You may access, correct, or delete your personal data directly in the app. You can also contact us — we will respond within 30 days.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this URL. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
